AI Search Optimization for Dubai & UAE Businesses
AI search optimisation, sometimes called GEO, is work that makes your business easier for Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini to find, understand and cite. We work on access, entity clarity and content structure, and we measure AI referrals honestly. Nobody can guarantee inclusion in an AI answer, and we don't.
How AI answers choose their sources
AI assistants answer in two ways. Some answers come from what the model learned in training. Others are built at query time: the system searches an index, retrieves pages and writes an answer that cites some of them. Google AI Overviews and AI Mode draw on Google's search index. ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Gemini each run their own retrieval, from their own crawlers and from search partners. That second route, retrieval, is the one you can influence in months rather than years.
For retrieval, the basics are the same as for search: the page must be crawlable, must be indexed and must answer the question clearly. What changes is the unit that gets used. An AI system usually lifts a passage, not a whole page. Content that states facts plainly, near the relevant heading, with specific names, numbers and conditions, is easier to quote than content that circles the point. Your business also has to be clear as an entity: what you are, where you operate and what you're known for, stated consistently across the web.
What the work covers
- Crawler access
- We review robots.txt and firewall rules for AI crawlers and separate the ones that fetch pages for search answers (such as OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot) from those that collect training data (such as GPTBot). Blocking Google-Extended affects Gemini's use of your content, not Google AI Overviews, which follow normal Googlebot rules. You decide what to allow; we explain the trade-offs.
- Server-rendered content
- Many AI crawlers don't run JavaScript. Key content, prices where you publish them, and contact details must be in the HTML response. This overlaps with technical SEO.
- Entity clarity
- Consistent business name, description, services, locations and founders across your site, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn, directories and industry sources, plus Organization structured data with sameAs links to those profiles.
- Citable content
- Pages restructured so each section answers one question directly, with definitions, comparisons in tables, stated conditions and dates. We don't add filler written for machines. Clear, specific writing is easier for people and AI systems alike.
- Third-party presence
- AI answers often cite reviews, comparisons, industry directories and forums rather than the company's own site. We identify the sources that get cited for your queries and where an accurate listing or contribution is possible.
llms.txt: what it is and what it isn't
llms.txt is a proposed convention: a Markdown file at the root of a site that summarises what the site is and links to its most useful pages, written for language models to read. It is easy to add and can help tools and agents that choose to read it. We add it where it makes sense and keep it accurate.
It is not a ranking signal that any major AI search provider has confirmed. Google has said it doesn't use it for Search. Anyone who sells llms.txt as a way to get into ChatGPT answers is overselling it. We treat it as good housekeeping, next to a clean sitemap. It won't make up for pages that are hard to crawl or unclear.
Measuring AI visibility and referrals
| What we measure | How | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Referral visits from AI assistants | GA4 sessions from sources such as chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, gemini.google.com and copilot.microsoft.com, in a dedicated channel group | Some AI traffic arrives without a referrer and appears as direct |
| Enquiries from those visits | Conversion events and CRM source fields, set up with analytics and conversion tracking | Many users read the answer and contact you later through another channel |
| Google AI features | Search Console performance data, which includes clicks and impressions from AI Overviews and AI Mode within web search totals | Google doesn't report AI feature traffic separately |
| Mentions and citations | A fixed set of buyer questions run on a schedule across assistants, recording whether you are mentioned, cited or described correctly | Answers vary by user, location, wording and day, so we read trends, not single results |
Process, scope and cost
Question set
We agree 30 to 60 real questions your buyers ask, in English and, where relevant, Arabic or Russian, and record how assistants answer them today.
Access and entity audit
Crawler rules, rendering, structured data and consistency of your business details across the web.
Content changes
Rewrites and new pages for the questions where you should be a source but aren't, starting with commercial ones.
Tracking and review
AI referral reporting set up in GA4 and the CRM, and the question set rerun at agreed intervals.
Not included: guaranteed citations or placement, paid placement in AI products, fake reviews or planted forum posts, and bulk AI-generated pages. Cost depends on the size of the question set, how much content needs rewriting, the number of languages and whether technical fixes are needed first. Most businesses get more from running this alongside the SEO programme than as a separate project.
Questions buyers ask
Can you get us recommended by ChatGPT?
We can make your business easier to find, understand and cite. Whether a given assistant recommends you for a given question is decided by that system and changes over time, so we don't guarantee it.
Is GEO different from SEO?
It overlaps heavily. Crawlability, indexing and clear content serve both. GEO adds attention to passage-level clarity, entity consistency, third-party sources and AI-specific crawler rules.
Should we block AI crawlers?
It depends on your content. Blocking search-answer crawlers removes you from those answers. Blocking training crawlers doesn't. Publishers with paid content choose differently from service businesses that want to be found.
Does structured data help AI answers?
It helps systems understand facts about your business and pages, and it supports Google's features. It isn't a switch that turns on citations.
How do we know if AI search is sending us leads?
Set up a separate channel for AI referrers in GA4, carry the source into your CRM, and add 'how did you hear about us' to forms, because some AI influence never shows as a referral.
Send us five questions your buyers would ask an AI assistant before choosing a provider like you. We will show you how the main assistants answer them today and what we would change. Get a proposal.
