Payment Gateway Integration for Dubai & UAE Businesses
We integrate UAE and international payment providers into websites, apps and platforms: cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, instalments, recurring billing, refunds and reconciliation. You hold the merchant accounts, and we build the parts that connect them.
Providers we work with
Fees, eligibility and supported features change and depend on your business, so we check them for each project instead of quoting general figures.
| Provider | Often chosen when | Check at scoping |
|---|---|---|
| Network International (N-Genius) | You want a large UAE acquirer and local settlement, often through your bank relationship | Onboarding time, plugin support for your platform, recurring and tokenisation options |
| Telr | You want a Dubai-based gateway with hosted checkout and ready plugins | Payment methods enabled on your account, refund and webhook behaviour |
| PayTabs | You sell across several MENA countries | Supported currencies and local methods per country |
| Checkout.com | You have higher volumes, several currencies or complex routing | Eligibility criteria and integration effort for your setup |
| Stripe | Your business is eligible and you want strong developer tooling and billing features | Whether your entity and business type are accepted, and payout terms |
| Tabby and Tamara | Customers buy higher-value items and would use instalments | Merchant approval, eligible categories and how refunds flow back |
Apple Pay and Google Pay are usually enabled through your card gateway rather than as separate providers. Apple Pay on the web needs domain verification, and each gateway handles it differently.
Hosted or embedded: your PCI scope
How card details are collected decides how much of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) falls on you.
| Method | How it works | Effect on scope |
|---|---|---|
| Hosted payment page | Customer is redirected to the provider's page to pay | Smallest scope; card data never touches your site |
| Provider-hosted fields or iframe | Card fields are served by the provider inside your checkout | Small scope, with a better checkout experience; your payment page scripts still need controls |
| Direct API with your own card form | Your site collects card data and sends it to the provider | Much larger scope and audit burden; we avoid it unless there is a strong reason |
We default to hosted pages or provider-hosted fields and never store card numbers. Your acquirer confirms which self-assessment questionnaire applies to your setup.
Recurring billing, wallets and instalments
- Recurring billing
- The card is tokenised at the first payment, usually with 3-D Secure, and later charges run as merchant-initiated transactions. We build retry schedules, expiring-card reminders and a clear record of each customer's consent. For subscription products, see SaaS development.
- Apple Pay and Google Pay
- Enabled through the gateway, with domain verification, wallet buttons shown only on supported devices, and tested on real phones.
- Tabby and Tamara
- Checkout options with instalment messaging on product pages where the provider allows it. Order status and refunds are synced back, so partial returns are handled correctly.
Webhooks, refunds and reconciliation
The redirect back to your site is not proof of payment. Customers close tabs and networks drop. We treat the provider's webhook, or a server-side status check, as the source of truth. Each webhook is verified by signature, processed once even if it arrives twice, and logged, and a scheduled job queries the provider for any payment still pending.
Refunds, full or partial, are started from your admin or order system and recorded against the original order. Reconciliation matches the provider's settlement report to your orders so finance can see gross sales, fees, refunds, chargebacks and the net amount paid into your bank in AED. Where cash on delivery runs alongside, courier remittances go through the same report. Syncing this into accounting or ERP is part of our API integration work.
Merchant onboarding: what you do and what we do
The merchant account belongs to your business, so you apply for it and sign the provider's agreement. Providers check your trade licence, ownership, bank account and business activity. Most also review your website before approval. We prepare the site for that review and handle the technical side once you have test and live credentials.
- Clear refund, returns, delivery, privacy and terms pages, published on the site.
- Business name, contact details and prices in AED visible to customers.
- Product descriptions that match the business activity on your licence.
- Test and live API keys shared through a secure channel, never by email or chat.
Deliverables, exclusions and cost drivers
Requirements and provider check
Payment methods, currencies, platform, recurring needs and refund rules, checked against each provider's current documentation.
Sandbox integration
Checkout, webhooks, refunds and status checks built and tested in the provider's test environment.
Edge-case testing
Declines, 3-D Secure failures, duplicate webhooks, timeouts, partial refunds and abandoned payments.
Live switch and monitoring
Small live transactions to confirm settlement, then alerts for failed webhooks and unusual decline rates.
- Not included: opening merchant accounts, negotiating fees, chargeback disputes with the provider, and PCI certification of your organisation.
- Cost drivers: number of providers and methods, platform (Shopify, WooCommerce or custom), recurring billing, marketplace split payments, and the depth of reconciliation and ERP sync.
We give a fixed quote after a scoping call. If the payments sit inside a new store, start with ecommerce development.
Questions buyers ask
Which gateway has the lowest fees?
It depends on your volume, card mix, business type and what each provider offers you after review. We compare the quotes you receive on features and integration effort, but we do not negotiate fees or receive commissions from providers.
Can we accept Stripe in the UAE?
Stripe accepts many UAE businesses, but eligibility depends on your entity and business type. Check with Stripe before building around it; we can integrate a UAE gateway if it is not an option.
Do we need both a card gateway and Tabby or Tamara?
Usually yes. BNPL providers sit alongside a card gateway, not instead of it, and they approve merchants and product categories separately.
Can you integrate payments into a mobile app?
Yes, using the provider's mobile SDK or a hosted page, with the same webhook and reconciliation logic on the server. Apple's and Google's rules on digital goods also apply. See mobile app development.
How do we handle payments that succeed but the order is missing?
Through webhooks and a scheduled status check. If the provider confirms payment, the order is created or updated automatically and flagged for review.
Will we be PCI compliant?
Using hosted pages or hosted fields keeps your scope small, but compliance is your organisation's responsibility. We build to reduce your scope and document the setup for your questionnaire.
Tell us your platform, the providers you are approved with or considering, and whether you need recurring billing or instalments. We will reply with an integration plan and a scoped proposal. Get a project proposal.
