WordPress Development for Dubai & UAE Businesses
WordPress is a sensible choice when your team publishes often and wants an editor it already knows. We build it to stay fast and maintainable: custom blocks instead of a heavy theme, a short list of approved plugins, and a handover your team can run without us.
When WordPress fits, and when it does not
WordPress is a content platform. It is excellent at publishing and weaker at anything that behaves like software.
| Your requirement | WordPress | Custom application |
|---|---|---|
| Marketing team publishes pages, news and insights weekly | Strong fit | Unnecessary cost |
| Arabic and English content with separate URLs | Good fit with a mature multilingual plugin | Possible, but built from scratch |
| Lead forms connected to a CRM | Good fit | Good fit |
| Logged-in users, dashboards, roles beyond editing | Poor fit; plugins pile up | Strong fit |
| Complex pricing, booking rules or transactions | Only with heavy customisation | Strong fit |
| Very high traffic with strict speed targets | Possible with caching and careful builds | Or a headless CMS with a Next.js frontend |
If your requirements sit mostly in the right-hand column, see web application development. For a fuller comparison, read WordPress vs custom development and WordPress vs Webflow. Online stores on WordPress are covered by WooCommerce development.
How we build WordPress sites
Many WordPress sites in the UAE are built on a multipurpose theme with a page builder on top. They launch quickly and then become slow, hard to update and dependent on dozens of plugins. We take a different route: a lean custom theme, with your design system defined in theme settings, and a library of custom blocks for the sections your pages actually use, such as service summaries, team grids, project cards and enquiry panels.
Editors assemble pages from those blocks in the standard WordPress editor. They can change text, images and order, but not break spacing, colours or right-to-left behaviour, because those rules live in code. Custom post types and fields hold structured content such as services, projects, team members or locations, so the same record can appear on several pages without being copied.
The code lives in version control, changes go through a staging site before production, and deployments are repeatable rather than done by uploading files over FTP.
Plugin governance
Most WordPress security incidents and slowdowns trace back to plugins. We treat each one as a dependency that has to justify its place.
- An approved list
- Every plugin on the site is documented with its purpose, owner and licence. If a feature can be written in a few lines of theme code, it does not get a plugin.
- Selection criteria
- Recent updates, a visible security record, compatibility with current WordPress and PHP versions, and no overlap with other plugins.
- Licences in your name
- Premium plugins are licensed to your business, so updates and support continue if you change supplier. We never install unlicensed copies.
- Update policy
- Updates are tested on staging before production, with a backup taken first. Ongoing updates are part of website maintenance.
- Admin hygiene
- Named user accounts, two-factor authentication for administrators, and no shared logins.
Arabic and English in WordPress
WordPress handles Arabic well when the set-up is planned. The main choice is between a translation plugin such as WPML or Polylang, which links each English page to its Arabic equivalent in one installation, and a multisite network, which keeps each language as a separate site. The plugin route suits most businesses. Multisite suits groups where the Arabic site has different content, editors or approval chains.
Either way, each language gets its own URL, reciprocal hreflang tags and a language switch that lands on the equivalent page. The theme ships with right-to-left styles written using logical CSS properties, so spacing and alignment mirror correctly instead of being patched page by page. Arabic fonts are chosen and loaded separately. Forms, validation messages and notification emails are translated as well, which is often forgotten.
Deliverables and exclusions
- Custom theme
- Built for your design, with no dependency on a page builder unless your team already relies on one.
- Block library
- Custom blocks for your page sections, with previews in the editor.
- Content types and fields
- Structured content for services, projects, people and other repeated items.
- Forms and integrations
- Enquiry forms connected to your CRM, email platform or booking tool.
- Multilingual set-up
- Arabic and English configured with separate URLs where required.
- Staging and deployment
- A staging site, version control and a documented release process.
Excluded unless scoped: hosting fees, premium plugin licence costs, content writing and translation, ongoing updates after the post-launch warranty period set in your contract, and online store features.
Training, handover and existing sites
Before launch we run a training session for your editors, recorded so new staff can watch it later, and give them a short written guide to the blocks and content types. Roles are set up so that authors draft, editors publish and only a small number of people hold administrator rights. You receive the administrator account, the repository, the plugin licence list and hosting details.
If you already run WordPress and it has become slow or fragile, we start with an audit of the theme, plugins, hosting and security. Sometimes a clean-up and a maintenance plan are enough; sometimes the audit shows that a rebuild costs less than keeping it alive, and then it becomes a website redesign.
Cost, proof and next step
The main cost drivers are the number of custom blocks and templates, multilingual set-up, integrations and the amount of content to migrate. Using fewer, more flexible blocks keeps both the build and future maintenance cheaper. We give a fixed quote after a scoping call. See the website development cost guide for a breakdown.
We can demonstrate the editing experience, not just the front end. See case studies, or request a project proposal.
Questions buyers ask
Can you work with Elementor or another page builder?
If your team depends on it, yes, with a strict set of saved templates. For new builds we recommend custom blocks, which are lighter and harder to break.
Is WordPress secure enough for a corporate site?
Yes, when plugins are kept to a minimum, updates are applied promptly, administrator accounts use two-factor authentication and the host is sound. Most breaches come from neglected sites, not from WordPress itself.
Which hosting do you recommend?
Managed WordPress hosting with staging, daily backups and server-level caching suits most sites. We recommend based on your traffic, data location preferences and budget, and the account stays in your name.
Can we move from WordPress to something else later?
Yes. Structured content in custom post types and fields exports far more cleanly than content locked in a page builder's layout code.
Do you take over WordPress sites built by other agencies?
Yes, after an audit. We need administrator, hosting and repository access, and we will tell you plainly if the site should be rebuilt rather than maintained.
